Estcourt Primary School was abuzz with excitement and enthusiasm as Prison Me No Way paid a special visit for a day filled with captivating workshops. The young students embarked on a remarkable journey, delving into the intricacies of prison life and experiencing first hand what it’s like to be in a prison cell. This immersive experience left an indelible impact on their young minds, offering them a unique insight into the world behind bars.
But the learning didn’t stop there. The workshops also focused on important topics such as drug awareness. The students were given a comprehensive understanding of the dangers associated with substance abuse from a tender age. By equipping them with knowledge and awareness, these workshops aimed to empower the students to make informed decisions and steer clear of potential harm.
Northern Power also took centre stage, emphasizing the significance of electrical safety. The young learners were educated on the importance of being cautious when it comes to electricity, ensuring they understand the potential risks and how to stay safe. This crucial knowledge will undoubtedly serve them well as they navigate their way through life.
Addressing the issue of antisocial behaviour, another workshop shed light on the consequences of such actions. The final session, “One Punch” focused on fighting and self defence. The students were taught on the laws around it and the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully. This session equipped them with vital tools to navigate challenging situations.
To culminate the day filled with learning and growth, the students gathered in the hall for an exciting Kahoot quiz. Laughter and cheers filled with air as the young minds showcased their newfound knowledge and competed with one another. It was a delightful way to wrap up a day that had been brimming with exploration and discovery.
