On the 6th of May, the PMNW team drove to Boothferry Primary School in Goole to carry out a ‘Your Choice Day’ to the year 5 and 6 pupils. The students were very enthusiastic and really got stuck into all the workshops! Their day started off with a presentation on ‘The Law’ which tackles issues such as peer pressure, consequences of making poor choices and respect towards to police. The rest of the day was filled with a wide variety of sessions. Workshops such as ‘Prison Life’, ‘Online Safety’ and ‘Anti-Social Behaviour’ were delivered. Robyn and Ry from the Humberside Fire and Rescue team also joined the day, presenting a session on fire safety. At the end of the day, the children were put to the test by participating in a quiz to test how much they had learnt. This definitely brought out their competitive side! Overall, our team had a fantastic day and the kids were a pleasure to teach. We would like to say a big thank you to Steve Capewell and all of the staff at Boothferry Primary School for looking after us during our visit.
